Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum


Highlights of Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum include the Championship Trophies, a 200° cinema screen and a 'walk-through' of the men's dressing room as it was in the 1980s, with John McEnroe. The museum is open throughout the year, daily: 10.30am - 5pm. Last admission is 4.30pm.

Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum Shortlisted for 2008 European Museum of the Year Award


Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum is well on its way to a Grand Slam year, after its inclusion in the 2008 European Museum of the Year Award shortlist.  Presented by the European Museum Forum, the winner will be announced in May 2008 at an awards ceremony in Dublin.

Terracotta Tennis Warriors Parade at Wimbledon


The complete set of Chinese ‘Terracotta’ Tennis Warriors featuring the world’s top eight male tennis players, who competed in the Tennis Masters Cup, Shanghai in November 2007, will go on parade from at the All England Club until 15 June 2008.

If you would like to see the 'terracotta' warrior figures of the tennis players please note that they are NOT to be found in the Museum but are located on the route of the tour of the grounds.

Hand-held Sign Language Guides at Museum

Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum is now even more accessible to a wider number of people. Deaf visitors to the Museum can have a tour presented in sign language using the latest hand-held video technology. To launch the guide a specially invited group of local visitors were given the opportunity to try this innovative guide. Deaf tennis champion Anthony Sinclair also attended the event with cameras from BBC Television’s ‘See Hear’ programme. Anthony Sinclair played in the first deaf tennis match at the Wimbledon Championships in 2004.
