The Championships, Wimbledon 2008 — Hospitality
About Wimbledon
Hospitality
  • Hospitality, both private and corporate, and including tickets to The Championships, is provided by both the Club and its appointed agents.
  • Less than 8% of all Centre and No.1 Court seats during the Fortnight are used for this purpose.
  • In 2008, there are eight Private Dining Suites for between ten and twenty people on the top floor of the Centre Court new development.
  • The tickets for these seats have become available due to the increased seating capacity of Centre Court in 2008 and the Suites, named Skyview Suites, are being marketed by Keith Prowse.
  • Inside the Grounds

  • The Club manages its own hospitality marquees and suites.
  • Such income is an important part of the annual surplus, which goes back into the development of British tennis via The Lawn Tennis Association.
  • Availability

  • The Club has deliberately reduced the amount of hospitality within the grounds from 46 marquees in the early 1990s to a total of 36 marquees and suites in 2008. This has had the twin benefits of allowing more tickets to be allocated to fans, while increasing the exclusivity of the hospitality.
  • 23 marquees available for hire with a variety of day combinations on offer. 11 suites are located in No.1 Court and two suites in the new Centre Court building.
  • The Club’s policy on allocation of space to companies not already at Wimbledon is to give priority on hospitality bookings to those companies with a major involvement with Wimbledon in terms of TV/Official Supplier agreements, or which sponsor British tennis.
  • Popularity with both UK and international companies is such that some 90% return each year, while almost 50% of companies have now renewed continuously for 10-15 years.
  • 2008 has been a buoyant year for hospitality at Wimbledon with the Club’s Marquees and Suites all sold by the middle of March 2008.
