About the Museum Education Programme

Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum is home to a fine collection of tennis equipment, costume, and memorabilia of past and present Champions. The Museum has a flourishing Education Department and active schools programme. Children are offered the opportunity to learn through a range of subjects and to explore the game of lawn tennis in a safe and stimulating environment.

The Primary Education Programme is both fun and inspiring. All activities are linked to the National Curriculum and cover a range of subjects. Teachers can choose from Museum Workshops, Children’s Guided Tours, or Education Room Workshops.

The Secondary School Programme is aimed at GCSE and A-Level students studying Physical Education, Leisure and Tourism and other related subjects and consists of talks, tours and Museum visits. General tours and Museum visits are suitable for all Secondary School groups.

The Education Team will help plan visits and answer any questions. A free familiarisation visit is available for the group organiser. The Museum Shop stocks a range of ‘pocket money’ tennis gifts and there is a packed-lunch room for school use. All groups must be pre-booked.
