Advice for wheelchair u
sers

For safety reasons, and to aid evacuation in an emergency, we recommend that wheelchair users attend The Championships with an able-bodied companion.


Recommended routes

The recommended route around the grounds for wheelchair users is clearly marked on a special map/information leaflet, available at the Gates during the tournament. This map provides details of the location of appropriate toilets and catering areas which are all easily accessible.


Viewing areas for wheelchair users

In order to meet local authority safety requirements and to ensure the effectiveness of any emergency evacuation, wheelchair users may ONLY occupy designated wheelchair areas.
  • Centre Court:
    There are reserved spaces for wheelchair users (ticket holders only) on Centre Court at the south end via Entrance a, at the north end via Entrance K between Staircases 12 & 14 and at higher levels via lifts at the south-east and north-west of the stadium.

  • No.1 Court:
    There are reserved spaces for wheelchair users (ticket holders only) on No.1 Court on Level 2 (East, Gangs 8 & 12 and West, Gangways 26 & 30). Both areas are accessible via the SW Hall or the Aorangi Pavilion forecourt.

  • Court 6: There is an unreserved viewing area set aside for wheelchair users on the west side of Court 6.


  • Court 11: There is an unreserved viewing area set aside for approximately 10 wheelchair users in front of the main stand of Court 11. Access is via the entrance to the main stand, near Gate 12.


  • Court 18: There is limited unreserved space for wheelchair users on the east side of Court 18. Access is via St. Mary's Walk and the central entrance to the court level stand.


  • Courts 14, 15, 16, 17 & 19: There is limited unreserved space for wheelchair users on the west side of Courts 14, 15, 16, 17 and at the south-east corner of Court 19.


  • Large screen TV & Aorangi Terrace: The main grass level of the Aorangi Terrace, from which the Large Screen TV may be viewed, has ramped access and a reserved area.

Toilets

Appropriate toilet accommodation, using a 'RADAR' key available from the entrance gates and Information Kiosks, is located at:
  • Near the SW Hall of Centre Court, via a ramp from the South Concourse
  • At the north of Centre Court, via the North Concourse
  • At Level 5 of Centre Court near Wheelchair areas
  • In the Level 2 Halls at each corner of No.1 Court
  • At the north of Court 18, under the main stand
  • To the west of Court 11, inside Gate 12

All Championships catering outlets are directly accessible for our disabled visitors and wheelchair users.

Electric Scooters

A limited number of parking spaces for small electric scooters (pavement vehicles only) is available inside the Grounds. The scooters must not be left unattended except in designated areas; they should be brought into the Grounds via Gate 4 where a uniformed security guard will advise a suitable parking location.

If you require any assistance, please ask a uniformed Guard/Steward or any member of the All England Club's staff.

The 2009 Wheelchair Ticket Ballot

There will be reserved spaces for wheelchair users on the Centre, No.1 and No.2 Courts at the 2009 Championships. A leaflet explaining how to enter the ballot for these spaces is available from either of the Gate 3 or Centre Court (south-west) Information Desks during The Championships. and in the link below.
